Mother And Son

Akhil Sharma was born in Delhi, India in 1971. As an eight-year-old, he migrated to the United States with his family. He is the author of various short stories and one novel, 'An Obedient Father', published by Faber & Faber in the UK and by Farrar, Straus & Giroux in the US. Asked what his greatest fear was, Sharma said that he is afraid of ghosts. 'I don't like to leave the house after it gets dark. People don't understand the danger they put themselves in when they go out at night.' He lives in New York City with his wife, Lisa. 'Mother and Son' is taken from a novel-in-progress to be published by W. W. Norton.
