Anthony Doerr
Anthony Doerr was born in Cleveland in 1973 and has lived in Africa, New Zealand and Italy. His father runs a small printing business and his mother is an ecology teacher. Doerr is the author of three books: a collection of short stories, The Shell Collector, a novel, About Grace, and Four Seasons in Rome: On Twins, Insomnia, and the Biggest Funeral in the History of the World. He has been awarded the Rome Prize, the Discover Prize, the New York Public Library Young Lions Fiction Award and two O. Henry Prizes.
