Jason Cowley

Jason Cowley is editor of the New Statesman. He was formerly editor of Granta, the Observer Sport Monthly, literary editor of the New Statesman and staff writer on the Times. His novel, Unknown Pleasures, was published by Faber in 2000. His second book, a work of narrative non-fiction called The Last Game: Love, Death and Football at the End of the Eighties, was published by Simon and Schuster in 2009. Cowley is a director of Zamyn, a founding member of the council of the Caine Prize for African Writing, and a former Booker Prize judge.
