Part of Jay McInerney’s Bright Lights, Big City was published in Granta 11 as a work-in-progress. His other novels include Story of My Life (1988), Model Behaviour (1998) and The Good Life (2006). His most recent book is The Last Bachelor (2008), a collection of short stories.
