Jean Gaumy

Jean Gaumy, the photographer and film-maker, grew up close to the Bay of Biscay and now lives in Fecamp, the port from where France’s cod fleet once set out for the Newfoundland fishing grounds. He has sailed with several fishing fleets. His photographs in Granta 61 (‘Hunters’) come from two voyages.
