Michel Houellebecq
Michel Houellebecq is a novelist and poet who cites as influences Neil Young, Schubert and Nietzsche. He is the bestselling author of Atomised, Platform, Lanzarote and Whatever. His most recent nove lis The Possibility of an Island. ‘We Are the Kings’ (Granta 59) is taken from L’Extension du Domaine de la Lutte, Paul Hammond’s translation of which was published by Serpent’s Tail in 1998. He lives in County Cork, Ireland.
