Miroslav Penkov

Miroslav Penkov was born in 1982 in Bulgaria. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Arkansas. His stories have won The Southern Review’s Eudora Welty Prize and have appeared in or are forthcoming from A Public Space, One Story, Orion, The Best American Short Stories 2008, The PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories 2012. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at the University of North Texas and editor of the American Literary Review. His debut collection East of the West was published in the US by FSG, in the UK by Sceptre, and will be published in Bulgaria by Ciela this fall.
