Nadine Gordimer

Nadine Gordimer was born in South Africa in 1923. She was awarded the 1991 Nobel Prize for Literature and remains very politically active, particularly with Aids/HIV causes. Her most recent novel, Get a Life, was published in 2005, and her collection of short stories, Beethoven Was One Sixteenth Black, in 2007.
