Nony Singh

Nony Singh was born in 1936 in Lahore. She studied at the American mission school in Dehradun, India, and graduated from Delhi University. She married in 1960 and had four daughters. Her husband created a world record in wheat production and after his death in 1981 she took charge of the farm. From the age of ten until her husband’s death she photographed her family extensively. Her photographs are collected as one of a series of books, Dayanita Singh Sent a Letter, published by Steidl in autumn 2007.
