Raymond Carver

Raymond Carver, an American poet and short story writer, was instrumental in the revitalization of the short story in the 1980s. He influenced authors as diverse as Dan Rhodes, Haruki Murakami and AL Kennedy. His achievements include receiving the prestigious Mildred and Harold Strauss Living Award (1983); his work has been translated into more than twenty languages.
