Robert McLiam Wilson
Robert McLiam Wilson was born in 1964. He has written three novels: Ripley Bogle (1989), Manfred’s Pain (1992) and Eureka Street (1996). He has also written a non-fiction book about poverty in the UK, The Dispossessed (1992). He has made several television documentaries for the BBC, though he is ‘a very bad filmmaker’. It also seems to him that his work is much more popular in translation – his books have been translated into fifteen languages. He is married, lives in Belfast and owns a black-and-white cat. ’The Dreamed’, which was published in Granta 81, comes from his forthcoming novel, The Extremists.
