Granta’s iPhone app
Today, the magazine launches its first smartphone app – our ‘sex’ issue for the iPhone, now available at the app store. Users can go here to buy it for just £1.19.
The app features writing and illustrations from the issue, including memoir by Mark Doty and drawings by Dave Eggers. In an app-exclusive piece translated from the German, Ingo Schulze recalls some teenage romances, ‘Soup and Kisses’; and there is an advance publication from Granta.com of ‘Memoirs of an Anonymous Phone Sex Worker’. We have also included Evie Wyld’s memoir, ‘Woman’s Body: An owner’s Manual’, which until now has only been available on our site. There are videos too – three short, impressionistic clips inspired by writing in the issue from thisisnotapurse.com; ‘Cover to Cover’, a showcase of the magazine’s cover art through the years; and John Freeman’s introduction to the issue, (which can also be seen here) – as well as Yann Faucher’s photo essay, ‘Body’.
