Denis

I'm a Russian writer living in America. I don't know what that really means, but rest assured that I'm working on the answer. In the meantime, here are some concrete details: I'm a graduate of UC Berkeley with degrees in English and Russian, a first-year MFA student at Hollins University as of September 2009, and an essayist.

This is an extraordinarily spare piece. I think the declarative sentences really contrast with the uncertainty felt by both the narrator and the reader, creating a sense of tension which lasts long after you finish reading the piece.

    Lovely!
