Contacts

|

The photo essay in our new issue, ‘Contacts’ by Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin, presents some of the photographers’ work from the Belfast Exposed Archive – a library of contact sheets founded in 1983 as a response to concerns over the careful control of images depicting British military activity during the Troubles. (Scroll down for a podcast interview with Adam and Oliver.)

Adam and Oliver will be in conversation with Granta editor John Freeman tonight, in the first of a series of events to celebrate the release of Granta 114: Aliens. Above is a selection from ‘Contacts’, as well as some photographs exclusive to Granta.com.

At this evening’s event there will also be a dramatized reading of Nami Mun’s story ‘The Anniversary’ by Olivia Grant.

– Monday 14 February, 7 p.m. at Paradise Row Gallery, 74 Newman St., London W1T 3EL. The event is free and open to the public.
