‘Down in Front’

Colson Whitehead, author of The Colossus of New York – once called a ‘lyric symphony’ – and lately the novels Apex Hides the Hurt and Sag harbor, turned his hand to a cinema visit for Granta’s film issue, published in summer 2004. ‘This is the part where they have sex,’ he drily observes. ‘They just met but they have a lot of chemistry and it has been foretold on the poster.’ Click on the link above to read the piece for free.
