On Friday, August 01, Barry George was cleared of the 1999 murder of BBC presenter Jill Dando. In ‘Benjamin Pell versus the World’, from Granta 87, Tim Adams profiled Benjamin (‘Benjie the Binman’) Pell, famed for rummaging through the rubbish of London in search of stories to sell to the newspapers.
