Lorrie Moore will be reading from her new publication, The Collected Stories, at the London Review Bookshop this evening. Moore was named one of Granta’s ‘Best of Young American Novelists’ in 1996 and her short story, ‘Agnes of Iowa’, appeared in Granta 54. Much praised for her humorous and poignant fiction, Moore’s previous work includes the best-selling short-story collection Birds of America and the novel Who Will Run the Frog Hospital.
One of Granta’s 2003 ‘Best of Young British Novelists’, Toby Litt, will be reading on May 29 at Patrick Neate’s monthly Bookslam at the 12 Acklam Road club in west London. Also appearing are the poet Kat Francois and soul jazz musician Andreya Triana. Read Litt’s non-fiction piece, ‘The Hare’, in Granta 81, and find details of his most recent novel, I Play the Drums in a Band Called Okay, here.
