Granta contributor Decca Aitkenhead has an interview with British-born, German-raised novelist Charlotte Roche in the Guardian. Roche’s debut novel, Wetlands (Feuchtgebiete), was a controversial bestseller in Germany last year. Before last Tuesday’s inauguration, the BBC asked acclaimed novelist and Granta contributor Joseph O’Neill what he is looking forward to in an Obama administration. Congratulations to Aleksandar Hemon whose novel The Lazarus Project was recently announced as a finalist for this year’s National Book Critics Circle Award. Hemon contributed to Granta 103: ‘The Rise of the British Jihad’.
