After five years at Penguin Press, Allfrey joined Random House six years ago and is Senior Editor at Jonathan Cape. Ellah Allfrey says –
‘This is a particularly exciting time to be joining Granta. While I am sorry to be leaving Cape, it’s an irresistible opportunity to work on a magazine that has published many of my favourite writers. I am delighted at the prospect of working with John and the team at Granta – finding the very best of new writing and building on the magazine’s reputation as one at the heart of cultural life.’
John Freeman says –
‘I am so thrilled Ellah is joining Granta. Her passion for literature from around the world and her proven record of publishing excellent and award-winning new writing is invigorating. I am very much looking forward to working with her on the future of Granta’
