Michael Peel’s essay about the oil industry, ‘Paradox of Plenty’, appeared on Granta.com in March. Petina Gappah’s ‘An Open Letter to Thabo Mbeki’ was published on Granta.com last year. Eleanor Catton’s debut novel, The Rehearsal, was published by Granta Books and has already won a Betty Trask Award – you can read the first chapter online.
