Frazier, a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and winner of the Thurber Prize for Humour, will be reading the title work from ‘Lamentations of the Father’. This essay, which originally appeared in the Atlantic Monthly, was recognized last year as one of the best pieces in the magazine’s 150-year history.

Lu Chunsheng, History of Chemistry 2
Lu Chunsheng, a Shanghai-based filmmaker, is known for exploring familiar but remote worlds in his highly experimental projects. History of Chemistry fuses performance art with the old-fashioned mystery movie. The title, according to Lu, derives from the idea of change: ‘Modern chemistry is derived from ancient western alchemy. Pacific Asia today is like a big alchemist’s workshop.’ This screening is the third part of Anthology’s ‘Focus Shanghai’ series.
