Granta Magazine Events 2014

For each issue we hold a series of events, from launch parties, exhibitions and dramatized readings to panel discussions with the magazine's writers and editors. We held launches for Granta 126: do you remember in London, and New York. Events to mark the launch of Granta 127: Japan will continue around the world and in partnership with the Nippon Foundation.

Granta 127: Japan
The Granta Japan party, with Ivan Vartanian and Daisuke Yokota: 20 May, doors 6 p.m., performance begins 6.30 p.m., Blackall Studios, 73 Leonard Street, Shoreditch, EC2A 4QS London. Free Admission
Shoreditch's Blackall Studios opens its doors for a night of celebration with Granta. Along with a display of works by several artists featured in the issue, photographer Daisuke Yokota will be demonstrating his technique of treating photographic prints with acid. The images will then be printed and made into a zine on the spot. A limited number of copies of the zine will be available for purchase only at the event. Simon Baker, a curator at Tate Modern, will also hold a short discussion with Daisuke Yokota and his collaborator and publisher Ivan Vartanian.
